How do you answer the question, "What is MS?"? It's
such a complicated disease, most adults - even those who have
it - don't always know how to explain it to people. Next time
you are searching for an easy way to describe what MS does inside
the body, just think of an extension cord and the answer will
be Exposed!
Here's How:

1) Use a regular, unplugged extension cord to demonstrate
how MS attacks the body's nerves.
2)
Carefully cut the unplugged cord with a pair of scissors. By
doing this, you can see how the rubber protects the wires inside
that carry the electrical transmissions, just like the myelin
sheath protects the nerves that carry messages between the
brain and the body.
3) Look at how many wires there are in just one cord?
That's what the nerves are like, protected by the myelin sheath
in the body.
4) Multiple Sclerosis chips away the protective coating
around the nerves (myelin sheath) exposing them. When the nerves
are exposed, they become damaged.
